Not powering up

posted Nov 23, 2017 18:19:15 by kif.scheuer
I bought a board at maker faire a couple of years ago and played with it a litte. For a variety of reasons I set it aside and now am trying to work with it, but something is not right.

When I power up the arduino board (a current board with an IOREF pin) using an external 12v supply, the led does not come on at all and I don't hear anything through headphones. It seems like it's not getting any power at all.

I have jumper 1 unset, so I don't think that's the issue and I've tried 3 different UNO boards to see if it was one of the boards.

It may be nothing, but the SD Card slot lines up with the usb adapter and prevents the MOVI from completely sitting into the pins on the UNO, but that must be normal as it's that way for all boards.

Any suggestions appreciated.

This was resolved by email and we learned that the power supply ended up not being sufficient. This is unfortunately, a usability issue with MOVI that we should fix in a future board version.
